Turn off Lights… for a sustainable life
Yesterday evening, alongside with various government and semi-Government bodies at Al Tawaya Park, AADC joined the world countries in the celebration of Earth Hour, to spread the concept of saving electricity and enhancing wise consumption behaviors. Millions of people around the world participate in such big environmental event focusing on the positive attitudes to lead to a big change in climate, as well as national efforts that aim to maintain environment clean from environment pollution by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
First, the activities starts when AADC employees and park visitors came together carrying candles and eco-lights at the time of turning of all unnecessary lights between 8:30 pm- 9:30 p.m. Besides, AADC turned off all lights at its buildings and its nine branches, yesterday evening.
In the occasion, AADC managing director, Abdulla Al Sheryani stated that celebrating the earth hour is a reflection of AADC keenness to continue its journey in educating people about the wise consumption of water and electricity. In addition, to achieve its goal in minimizing environmental impacts in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions that considered one of biggest world challenges. He added that protecting environment is one of AADC’s priorities and its participation in such events is an opportunity to raise consumers’ awareness on saving energy and achieve sustainability for the next generations.
